Night Contact, a new one-night photography and multimedia festival
Photographers and artists who work with multimedia have time till 27th May 2013 to apply for one of three £1000 grants as part of the new London-based festival. Night Contact, a new one-night photography and multimedia festival, is offering artists and photographers, the chance to win one of three £1000 grants to part-fund new site specific work specially commissioned for the festival. The festival produced by [photography hub/platform] Contact Editions in partnership with creative network IdeasTap will take place in Dalston, east London, from dusk until midnight on 27 September 2013.
Centered on Gillett Square, a large public space in Dalston, the festival will feature site-specific commissions and existing mixed-media and photography-related work. Work will be projected across specially installed screens in Gillett Square and in seven dedicated indoor and outdoor spaces including the Vortex Jazz Bar and Downstairs Cafe, Dalston Jazz Bar and Dalstons Boys Club. The festival will also break out across six satellite venues around Dalston which will show specially programmed screenings. The majority of work will come from open submissions accompanied by a curated programme, which includes work from Japanese artist collective Roll that makes rolling gifs.
